Passenger Awareness Campaign - Santragachhi
South Eastern Railway is organizing a Passenger Awareness Campaign Programme to ensure Safety and Welfare of the Passengers in Santragachhi Railway Station from 5th to 11th April,2012. As a reference, just a few days before there was a serious accident in Santragachhi Station due to crossing railway tracks in an unauthorized and unsafe manner. For this programme S.E.Rly Bharat Scouts and Guides including Railway Staffs and Officials have been involved in this campaign. Passengers are being repeatedly requested to use Foot Over-Bridge to cross platforms.
Colorful Posters, Banners and placards have been put up all around the platform area by the Scouts. The department had also said that they had heard from various source that public are more keen to get a new Foot Over-Bridge on the Kharagpur End of Santragachhi Station. The Officials had confirmed that they will judge all the aspects and if possible they must do that.
